Upcycled
Every now and again I am gifted old glass. Usually antique or retro from broken doors and windows and often in small or awkward pieces unable to be used as a primary glass in a big piece. Usually this glass is clear with beautiful textures that I just cant bear to discard, so I make what I call ‘random’ pieces, starting with a particular special piece of glass and working with and around it usually with no design drawn or even in mind, just letting the pieces come together. These pieces are totally unique and one off.

The other part of my Upcycling I call ‘together again’. This is when I take a plate, bowl or dish and put it back together again the only way I know how - the stained glass way. This all started when my 4year old daughter broke her favourite plate and came to me in tears ‘mum, please fix my plate’ so I did the only way I know how…. Please note these items are not to be used for serving food.
Falling
I just had to capture the ageless beauty of this antique coloured glass, kindly given to me in small pieces, combined with a variety of my favourite retro clear textures.
Set in a discarded cabinet door, using the original beading and nails. Hung with chain.

Boats
This piece started with a couple of small awkward shaped pieces of boat glass and some shards of star glass. Combined with a variety of my favourite retro clear textures.

Dreamcatcher
Upcycled plate dreamcatcher with stars and feathers. I rescued this wee plate from an op.shop covered in paint, unloved and marked down. It has been matched with various clear textured glass from numerous broken doors and windows.
